Figure and Nscale Sign $3.5 Billion AI-Compute Partnership
Figure and Nscale agreed an initial $3.5 billion compute commitment in September 2026, alongside a strategic investment in the humanoid-robotics company.
Figure announced on 3 September 2026 that it had signed a strategic partnership with Nscale covering an initial $3.5 billion compute commitment, with an intention to scale the relationship beyond $6 billion.
What the agreement covers
The partnership targets deployment of up to 100,000 GPUs on NVIDIA’s Vera Rubin platform, with initial deployment planned from the second half of 2027. Figure said Nscale would also make a strategic investment in the company.
- Initial compute commitment: $3.5 billion.
- Potential scale: more than $6 billion.
- Strategic investment: Nscale investment in Figure; amount not disclosed in the announcement.
- Purpose: training and scaling Figure’s physical-AI models.
MarketNEXXT interpretation
The event is a capital-and-infrastructure signal rather than a new disclosed valuation round. Figure’s previously announced Series C in September 2025 valued the company at $39 billion, but the Nscale agreement should not be used to infer a new 2026 valuation without further evidence.
What to monitor next
- Disclosure of the size or terms of Nscale’s strategic investment.
- Further capital raises that establish a new Figure valuation.
- Progress against the planned compute deployment timetable.
- Any company-led liquidity event or transfer process involving existing shareholders.
This distinction is central to MarketNEXXT’s coverage methodology: strategic investments, financing rounds and secondary-liquidity events are tracked separately. See the wider company universe.
